Music Video Project  (for community, by community)

We have had huge success across remote, regional and urban communities delivering the Music Video Project. This award winning project is a week long intensive creative process that the community will be guided through writing, recording and filming their own Music Video. Our music video project is a perfect tool to guide each of the communities through an engaging and powerful creative process which is done ‘by community, for community’ exploring their chosen key themes, key messages and showcase the culture identity, stories and connection to country. IHHP always have a priority on cultural activities song, dance ceremony cook ups and bush trips during this project.

The Music Video project is a popular project based on the powerful, positive content/resource that is created with high quality production values, uploaded to youtube and shared with the whole world. Our music videos are getting watched daily in schools, youth centres and communities hundreds of times a day.

Participants are mentored over a week to produce a song and video clip for presentation to their community, and for subsequent use and distribution in health promotion.

Week Long Project Description.

Day 1 –  Meet n greet /welcome to country. Using rap/ poetry as the key form of engagement, participants are mentored in writing their own songs addressing key issues related to their community and incorporating the local culture and heritage.

Day 2 – Participants will be given vocal coaching and the song will be professionally recorded. Start working through the lyrics/script and begin planning the location/props.

Day 3 –  Participants will be taken through the creative process of scripting a video clip, selecting suitable locations and filming a bush trip.  Plan three separate locations for filming morning session, afternoon session and sunset session. Photos portraits with leaders, heros, elders.

Day 4 – will involve filming remaining parts of the video clip in chosen locations around the community. Plan three separate locations for filming morning session, afternoon session and sunset session. Photos portraits with leaders, heros, elders.

Day 5 – IHHP will finalise the edit, upload it to social media and prepare it for a community premier launch event with Family friends and stakeholders.

Confidence, performance skills and vocabulary is enhanced through a range of confidence building activities and exercises. The end product is a locally designed and driven, high quality health/education resource (music and dance video). The advantages of the music video project is that a group participants receive intensive burst of self esteem, sense of achievement and multiple personal development and education outcomes. Each project creates a great sense of community pride with powerful messages having positively influence other young people in the community and across the country. The content is powerful and captures the heart and soul of each of the sacred locations we are so lucky to visit
