Jason Sandy


Jason Sandy is an Aboriginal performer from the Mununjali tribe
from the Beaudesert in Queensland near Logan Valley. His Totem
is the Wedge Tail Eagle or (Mibin), most of the Mununjali tradition
was lost, but Jason and his family went to great lengths to research
the stories and legends about his clan, and today the flame of
the ”Mununjali” is alive & well.
Jason is a Dancer, Didgeridoo Player, and Song man, he begun dancing
with his brother and their cousins in 1990 with the Mununjali Yugambeh
Dance Troupe. That group performed for two years before Jason danced
with other groups including Imbala, Wakka Wakka, Mornington Island & K’gari
Gownga to name a few. He then joined Descendance in Alice Springs
in 2002, by 2003 he had taken over as the operations manager of
the daily shows.
Jason has worked with Australian international superstar Xavier
Rudd and was instrumental in developing a musical called “Dreamtime
People” at Sanctuary Cove Queensland with Ku Ku Yalangi tribal
elder Graham Brady.
His credits include:

at World fair.

in Lords

by Baz Lurhman.
- 2008 Bulgarian and Netherlands tour, 7 weeks in Europe Descendance
