Suga Gill aka Gillian Orrett

Suga Gill aka Gillian Orrett, 23 from Liverpool England, has been dancing since the early age of 3. Training at the Performing Arts School, ‘Dolphin Dance Studios’ from 2003 – 2006 she achieved teaching qualifications in Freestyle Dance and Pre Graduate 1 Ballet I.D.T.A (International Dance Teachers Association.) Other achievements include Intermediate standard in Tap and Advanced 2 Modern in I.S.T.D. (Imperial Society for Teachers of Dance) Finally she was nominated for the John Dilworth Scholarship in 2006 and became head girl in her third year.

Experience during this time includes performances of Fame, Grease, West Side Story, Joseph, Little Shop of Horrors, Sweet Charity and 5 professional Pantomimes with Crown Productions U.K. She was a Cheerleader for L.B.C. (Liverpool Basketball Club) and the Bradford Bulls squad of 10 rugby Super League team and has toured with Pulse FM, and Juice FM School Tours around England. She danced at the Military of Defence Graduation Ball and has been a featured dancer in 2005 feature film O’Jerusalem starring Tom Conti and J.J Field directed by Ellie Chouraqui.

Since leaving college, she has trained in the art of breaking and has made Hip Hop Culture a way of life. She now represents ‘Hard Knox Crew,’ ‘Liverpool’s Finest Crew,’ and Australia’s ‘Bigg Noiz Krew.’

In 2008 she moved to Melbourne Australia to be with her partner, and has since performed in Hume’s Winter Music Festival and competed at the Australian Championships 2008 bgirl competition, in which she was runner up and won ‘Our Backyard’ bboy Competition, with the crew “4 the oestrogen.” Most recently she performed at the ‘Sydney Festival,’ alongside ‘All Consciousness Crew (‘Australian bboy Champions 2009.’)

She is now dancing with Katumba Latin Entertainment and touring with IHHP. She has been to the communities, Nyngan, Bourke, Lightening Ridge, Echuca, Katherine, Alice Springs and around Melbourne and is excited to tour many more this year.
